The Story of X

One day, in the classroom, Teacher Alpha asked her pupils to write five words that starts with the letter of their names.

Most of the pupils began writing happily.
X got sad. He tried harder to think of words that begin with letter X, but  failed.

He saw A, his seatmate, who have already written apple, axe, and airplane on his paper.

As X turned to his left, he saw G's paper. She has written girl, goat, gate, and giraffe.

X got sad again.

He looked around hoping to see a thing that starts with letter X.

X noticed the xylophone in the shelf.

"Xylophone," exclaimed X.

"Sssh!" said Teacher Alpha.

X smiled and began to think again. Until he fell asleep on his armchair.

"Pass your papers," Teacher Alpha announced.

X was astonished as he heard her teacher.

"Good bye, class! See you tomorrow!

"Good bye, Teacher Alpha! Thank you for teaching us!" said the pupils.

The whole class left, except X.

"Oh, why are you still here X? And, why you did not pass your paper?"

X began to weep. "I' m sorry, Teacher Alpha. I can't find another words, beginning with X. I feel useless."

Teacher Alpha patted the shoulder of X. "You're important. Don't feel bad about it."

"But, I don't feel like I am needed in this class," answered X.

"You are needed in this class, just like every one of your classmates."

"Really?"

"Yes! That is why you belong in my class -- the alphabet." Teacher Alpha beamed at him.

X smiled.

"So, you want me to give another words, aside from xylophone?"

"Yes, Teacher!"

"Xerox, xenon, xenia, xenology, xylem, xylitol, xu, xenophile... and so on and so forth!"

"Wow! Amazing! I'm not really useless. Thank a lot, Teacher Alpha! See you tomorrow!

"You are welcome, X!"

X went out the classroom happily.
