Teachers' Unity during the Storm

"Principals come and go, but teachers stay", as they said.

There is an absolute truth on this.

The principals come like a natural calamity. They pass by and they don't stay. In contrast, teachers of one institution stay. They build the Alma Mater up to their sixty-fifth year of existence in the world. They make roots so that new batch of seedlings may sprout up, which will later contribute to the strong foundation of the academe.

This scenario is prevalent to all educational institutions.

When the school administrator came in, he offers change for the betterment of the institution. He tries to change the culture of the school, which has positive and negative effects. The positive side would be the success of all aspects in his entire administration, where all stakeholders have gained from these. The negative side would be the sudden change of teachers' outlook and activities, where they become disunited. Clashes of ideas may occur. Like any catastrophe, storm destructs, whether lives or properties or natural resources or all of these.

Undeniably, teachers nowadays dissociate because of the effects of the storm. They don’t know how to handle the strong wind and heavy rain during the calamity. Some will settle on where they really belong and cling with one another because they believe that there’s a rainbow after the storm. However, some will choose to go with the flow. They accept the fact that the gustiness of wind and rage of rain will slay them if they don’t lose grip from holding with the union. Self-interest or fear may be the reason of this wrong option. They sacrifice the foundation they built for years over the promise of temporal safety and pleasure.

Well, we can’t blame them. Storms are usually destructive, sometimes fatal. People are precautionary that they evacuate before the storm makes a landfall. Some gives up after deciding to hold on.

Thus, teachers, who are still sober after the calamity, are indeed commendable for they give importance to the time-tested ties; and for they are positive enough to rebuild their place and continue to live the normal life. Teachers who surpass the natural occurrence are highly regarded because they know the value of unity, for whatever happens, they would remain. Enduring the storm with their folks is a great attitude an educator may possess. Likewise, moving on after the storm is a noble attitude. They must understand that the environment they live together is the venue where they prosper together. Wrath of nature will sometimes interfere, but it is not permanent.

Coming of the storm cannot be hindered, but how to face it is what matters most. Teachers are advised to hold each other’s hand. Learning how to be strong is the best weapon for severity of its destruction.
