My story is what inspired to become educator and enter this noble profession?
When I was a kid, I love to go to school. I love to study. I love every lesson, that teacher teaches us. That's why I always been in the honor roll, not on the top, but not in the bottom. It's because, I only stayed one school year in a school. The reasons were homelessness, family problem and crisis. However, they never hinder my eagerness to learn and to achieve.
Five years after, I went back to my homeland. That was when I found myself teaching my little sister and her playmates how to read and to count. I acted as their teacher, without knowing that teaching is my real choice.
High school life seemed miserable for me, but it did not ruined my love for education and learning. I struggle. I study hard. I achieve.
During my collegiate years, my love for education was on the highest point. I took up not Education course. I preferred business course instead, because I feared the Licensure Examination for Teachers. I then failed. My life, my family, my children and I suffered from this failure. Wrong choice, I think.
Then, one day, after more than four years of being unemployed, my uncle told me that he's willing to finance my studies. I did not immediately decide. I pondered. I reminisced.
I remember my college professor, who was a very good teacher that time. (She was a principal when she passed away.) She once told me that a student like me should be a teacher, not a commerce student. Those words are my inspiration---one of my inspirations, rather. I wanted to follow her steps because she inspired every student. She has inspired me.
Now, I am teacher. I inspire my pupils just like every teacher, I had, has done to me. Though, some of the inspirations of my former teachers were not spoken, they all helped me to become what I am today. This is also why I love teaching, I love to teach and I love teachers!
HAPPY TEACHERS' MONTH!
